Student Assistants

Lindsey Cochran

  • Peer Advisor

Lindsey is pursing an A.B. in History with a minor in Education. She is a dependent of a veteran. The best thing about UC Davis to Lindsey is how nice the majority of people are, especially at the VSC. Getting to see the regulars who come in to hang out and talk was one of her favorite parts of the day pre-COVID. She is also currently in charge of two student organizations: the Davis Student Veteran Organization and the Liquid Hotplates. These two groups are like her family, and her time at Davis would not have been the same without them.

Amanda Manangan

Amanda Manangan

  • Peer Advisor

Amanda is a third-year Political Science major, and she is a dependent of a Navy Veteran. She enjoys riding her bike in the Arboretum on campus, and one of her favorite places to eat in Davis is the Japanese restaurant Mikuni. Amanda loves painting, listening to music, eating pancakes, and watching movies. She is excited to be working at the VSC alongside the other kind staff.

Tasneem Mukarrama

  • Peer Advisor

Tasneem is a second year student in the Biological Sciences field. She is originally from San Diego and chose to go to UC Davis because of its abundance of resources for women in STEM. She currently works at the VSC as a peer mentor and is dedicated to assisting students that come from a military background. Tasneem enjoys cooking with her roommates, listening to NPR podcasts, and watching Bollywood movies with her mom.

Kyle Palmer

  • Peer Advisor

Kyle is a third-year International Relations major and is a veteran of the U.S Air Force. He loves the UC Davis small town locale and the abundance of excellent food Davis has to offer. The VSC at UC Davis is a great focal point for veterans to study, access resources, and to just have a familiar and friendly conversation. Kyle enjoys biking, hiking, traveling, video games, and trying new and crazy cuisines from around the world.
